- Regional Sales Manager
As a Regional Sales Manager, you’ll start by carrying and exceeding your own sales quota in your territory; then, as you establish yourself, you’ll take on a defined mandate to hire, train, and lead a regional sales team, standing up a full Southgate sales office in your market over the next 3–6 years.
Job Description
Regional Sales Manager
Location: Southeast, Southwest, Northeast, or West (field-based, territory travel)
Position Type: Base salary plus commission & team incentiveThe Role
This is the growth track for a proven Commercial Transportation Consultant who’s ready to build something. This role is built for someone who thinks like an owner: part top individual producer, part future sales leader.Who You’ll Sell To
Your territory’s ideal customer runs a fleet of 10–150 vehicles—light-duty trucks, SUVs, and sedans — often geographically dispersed across multiple sites. As the team grows under you, this is also the customer profile your future Commercial Transportation Consultants will be trained to pursue. What You’ll Do
- Personally carry and close a full territory sales quota, using the same consultative, TCO-driven approach as our Commercial Transportation Consultants
- Build a qualified pipeline through referrals, association relationships, and proactive prospecting in your region
- Serve as the senior relationship owner for your largest and most strategic regional accounts
- Once established, recruit, interview, and hire Commercial Transportation Consultants to build out your regional team
- Coach and develop your team’s sales approach, pipeline discipline, and CRM hygiene
- Own the build-out and performance of a fully staffed regional sales office within a 3–6 year horizon
- Partner with company leadership on regional market strategy, hiring plans, and growth targets
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree, or 10 years of equivalent professional experience
- 5+ years of proven B2B outside sales experience, with a track record of quota over-achievement; commercial fleet, automotive, or rental industry experience strongly preferred
- Demonstrated leadership, mentoring, or team-building experience — or a clear, evidenced aptitude for it
- An entrepreneurial mindset and genuine interest in building and running a sales office, not just carrying a bag
- Working knowledge of a CRM platform (Salesforce or similar) — required for personal pipeline management and, eventually, team oversight
- A valid driver’s license with no more than one moving violation in the past 12 months, and no DUI/DWI conviction in the past 5 years
- Comfort with a compensation structure that shifts toward commission and, over time, team-based incentives as the regional office grows
- Authorization to work in the United States
Preferred Skills
- Experience prospecting with ZoomInfo or similar tools, and working with intent-signal data to prioritize outreach
- Prior experience hiring, onboarding, or managing a sales team
- An active professional network on LinkedIn and within relevant industry associations
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and comfort learning and rolling out new software to a team

As a Commercial Transportation Consultant, you’ll own the full sales cycle in your territory, identifying fleet decision-makers, building trust through a consultative approach, and showing them what a well-managed fleet actually does for their bottom line.
Job Description
Commercial Transportation Consultant
Location: Southeast, Southwest, Northeast, or West (field-based, territory travel)
Position Type: Base salary plus commissionThe Role
Southgate Lease Services is a privately held, full-service fleet management company built for organizations running small and mid-sized fleets. As a Commercial Transportation Consultant, you’ll own the full sales cycle in your territory, identifying fleet decision-makers, building trust through a consultative approach, and showing them what a well-managed fleet actually does for their bottom line. This is a relationship-driven, outside sales role for someone who’d rather solve a business problem than push a product.Who You’ll Sell To
Your ideal customer runs a fleet of 10–150 vehicles—light-duty trucks, SUVs, and sedans—often spread across multiple locations or a wide geographic footprint. Think field service, distribution, home healthcare, construction, and other companies where vehicles are core to getting the job done, but fleet management isn’t their core business. What You’ll Do
- Own new business development in your territory, from first outreach to closed deal
- Build a qualified pipeline through referrals, national association relationships, and proactive prospecting
- Research and qualify prospects, then build a case for why they need to rethink how they manage their fleet
- Run the full sales process—discovery, fact-finding, proposal, and closing—with key decision-makers
- Design custom fleet management solutions, including Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) analysis, that speak directly to a prospect’s numbers
- Build and manage relationships with clients through a smooth transition into the account and beyond
- Represent our full selection of services—vehicle acquisition and disposal, maintenance and repair, licensing, and lifecycle/cycling of fleet vehicles
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree, or 10 years of equivalent professional experience
- 3+ years of proven B2B outside sales experience, ideally selling to executive/C-level buyers (not retail or B2C)
- A consultative sales style—comfortable with cold outreach and lead generation, but built around understanding a client’s business, not just closing a transaction
- Working knowledge of a CRM platform (Salesforce or similar)—this is required, not optional, for documenting and managing sales activity
- A valid driver’s license with no more than one moving violation in the past 12 months, and no DUI/DWI conviction in the past 5 years
- Comfort with a compensation structure that shifts increasingly toward commission as you ramp, based on experience
- Authorization to work in the United States
Preferred Skills
- Experience prospecting with ZoomInfo or similar tools, and working with intent-signal data to prioritize outreach
- Prior commercial fleet, automotive, or rental industry sales experience
- An active professional network on LinkedIn and within relevant industry associations
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and a general comfort learning new software

“Absolutely the most fantastic experience I’ve ever had with anything like this! Holly was great! She even took time to text me later in the evening on her own time to help me with the car. I was told I could expect 3 months to get it, and it was delivered to my home in 3 days! I totally recommend Southgate!”
“I deal with a lot of leasing companies. You and your team are by far the most professional, efficient, and spot-on in the various details of anyone that I work with.”
